That said, this past month, Jan 2022, it became apparent that a dream is only as good as it is working out for you. After moving across the country in the first week of Jan and getting sick for nearly the rest of the month, I was only able to generate $354 toward Feb’s $1200 of bills. I need your help in order to meet my goal! The plan was to earn Feb’s expenses in Jan and continue forward with that momentum throughout the year, but you know what they say about the best laid plans… so I’m pretty behind on covering Feb’s expenses. I’m still trying to make a living at this “doing art full time” thing. Gotta say… This month? Not so good so far. Getting sick really didn’t help with that, but I’ve also been floundering at what to do and how to do it. I spoke with a friend yesterday and we were talking about how to add “value” to your audience. All the examples I was given for a value add to my audience was centred around teaching information. Here’s the thing tho… I don’t want to be a teacher. There are tons of very passionate teachers out there, but I am not one of them. I like giving advice or showing my process, but sitting down and writing out lesson plans and harping on a concept for a week just sounds like torture to me. That said, I think there is a value in sharing your process. Artists can learn from it sure, but non-artists (my main audience) may find the process entertaining. And there is real value in entertainment. The entertainment industry makes billions on dollars every year. I just need a fraction
